■ This course is suitable for amateurs to serious semi pro photographers alike - the course is very comprehensive
■ Whilst it's advantageous to have some background photography knowledge, the course is very detailed with easy to understand, step by step procedures to teach you every facet of camera handling skills and composition, lighting and a myriad of other techniques to become a competent professional photographer
■ Any full or cropped frame DSLR camera or mirrorless camera is ideal. Full frame cameras with their bigger sensors will give better results in certain situations
■ Whilst we recommend you have a DLSR or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses, you could also do this entire course with a quality compact with full manual controls such as a Sony DX100, Lumix LX100, Yashica, Canon, Nikon, Fuji or equivalent. A quality compact is great addition to your arsenal of gear
■ A wide angle lens eg 16-35mm (on a full frame camera) or 10-22mm (on a cropped sensor camera); a telephoto lens eg. 70-300mm or 70-200mm; a mid range lens eg 24-105mm or 28-70mm. A few prime lenses such as a 50mm f1.8 is an inexpensive addition to your kit
■ An external on-camera flash unit is preferable
■ A sturdy tripod, U/V and polarising filters
■ A five-in-one reflector (eg a 42" is ideal)
