As a travel photographer you need to select your imaging devices to best suit the situation. Lightweight, unobtrusive camera gear means more freedom to mingle with the locals in Zanzibar. Rugged and reliable pro gear matters for exacting wildlife photography. On this course, you will learn how to shoot street scenes, candid portraits, nature, wildlife, landscapes, food, architecture, abstract, action, activities, culture, adventure...with tailor made advice given on the technique and camera gear to suit each destination and activity.
This exciting and vibrant course emphasises the need to be versatile in your photography - one needs to be adaptable in your shooting style to suit varying conditions such as weather, time of day and time of year of a region or event. If it's raining, you learn to shoot macro and portraiture. If it's classic landscapes maybe it's a dawn shoot for the perfect light.

OTHER OPTIONS
Bundle this course with an 'On Location' one or 2 day Travel Photography course offered on a scheduled basis in Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane
■ This course is suitable for amateurs and hobbyists to serious semi-pro photographers alike - the course is very comprehensive
■ Whilst it's advantageous to have some background photography knowledge, the course is very detailed with easy to understand, step by step procedures to teach you every facet of camera handling skills and composition, lighting and a myriad of other techniques to become a competent travel & tourism photographer
■ Any full or cropped frame DSLR camera, mirrorless camera, quality compact or smartphone is ideal. Full frame cameras with their bigger sensors will give better results in certain travel scenarios like landscapes
■ A wide angle lens eg 16-35mm (on a full frame camera) or 10-22mm (on a cropped sensor camera); a telephoto lens eg. 70-300mm or 70-200mm; a mid range lens eg 24-105mm or 28-70mm. A 50mm f1.8 or 1.4 prime is small, cheap and great to have in your kit. Although lenses like the 18-270mm appear to be good as an all-rounder travel lens they don't give the best results
■ An external on-camera flash unit is preferable to your in-camera flash
■ We highly recommend you have a quality smartphone. A perfect travel companion to grab those impromptu shots or to take great images in their own right
■ A lightweight tripod, beanbag +/- Gorillapod
